Healthy home-cooked meals are provided by Shalom House staff in our VDH certified kitchen. Many people say they’d like to live at Shalom House just to enjoy the food every day!
Breakfasts may be a light continental breakfast with breads, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, juice and coffee or a heartier breakfast like egg and sausage casserole or apple French toast.
Lunches vary from hearty soups with homemade bread, fruit, and cheese to taco salad with all the fixings or build-your-own sandwiches. All lunches include one side dish, dessert and drinks (two kinds of iced tea, lemonade, water).
We have a very large dinner selection that includes dishes like chicken and stuffing, spaghetti and meatballs, sausage lasagna, herbed pork tenderloin or honey-ginger salmon over jasmine rice. We have many vegetarian options available and are able to accommodate most dietary needs. Dinners include two side dishes, dessert and drinks.
We love making and serving desserts at Shalom House. You might have brownies, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies or snickerdoodle bars at lunch. For dinner, we serve cobblers with ice cream, many kinds of trifles, cakes, pies and good ole fashioned ice cream sundaes with all the toppings.
